Happy End

A woman in her forties takes a look around and realizes that the world goes to hell in a handbasket: catastrophes, bomb terror, islamic fundamentalists, rising unemployment rates that don´t spare her... Under those circumstances, a bomb exploding in a cafe while she´s having her coffee doesn´t much surprise her. But it seems to have an effect – she pulls herself together and goes on a journey to search for a fortune or at least a life. This trip takes her through Weimar, Berlin, Amsterdam and finally to Finland, always in the company of a mute friend she picked up by the roadside. Here she finally finds something that enables her to live a human life – peaceful and good.

Sibylle Berg created an incredible apocalyptic picture of the world we live in and composed a polyphonic piece of linguistic art. It´s radical and emphatic and surprisingly causes disconcert and happiness at the same time.
