Azzurro

  • The perfect book for your next Italian vacation
  • Smart and entertaining – countless stories about the country and its greatest singers

“We Italians are sparrows and nightingales. Everyone here sings,” said the great Lucio Dalla. So there’s no better – or at least no more beautiful – way to understand the country than through its music.

Whether Mina, Ricchi e Poveri, or Adriano Celentano, the canzone is a national treasure: from Neapolitan songs to the annual summer hits, Italian disco and the works of the cantautori (singer-songwriters). Eric Pfeil sets off with us on a journey with 100 songs in his luggage that bring us closer to a country, its history, and its most beautiful spots, and that beg to be listened to again and again.
