A dead journalist, the bloodstained luxury of high society and the simmering conflicts of a big city. In her second case, prosecutor Vogelsang not only has to confront her painful past, but also investigate her own people.
A cold fall evening in Frankfurt. Greta Vogelsang has just made herself comfortable when the doorbell rings. It's her ex Robert. He is in a panic, believes he is being followed - and hands her an envelope. Vogelsang, however, wants nothing more to do with him. The memory of what they experienced together weighs too heavily. She puts the envelope away and tries to forget the incident. In vain, as a few days later she is involuntarily caught up in the eviction of a squatted house, during which the body of an investigative journalist is found. It is Altmann. All signs point to murder.
Vogelsang goes back to examine Altmann's envelope. And finds information about a dubious agency for luxury events that is said to be illegally trading in valuable game meat. She quickly realizes that Altmann's death and the wildlife trade are connected. And that there must be much more to it than that. Why else the brutal murder? When she learns that the owner of the agency is in hospital with a rare form of anthrax and is fighting for his life, the situation comes to a dramatic head.
