How do we escape from the vortex of excessive demands to avoid problems like burnout, addiction, and depression?
We’re all familiar with it: on top of the big and small trials of daily life, we’re also balancing marriage, children, career, and passions – the demands on us are overwhelming. We’re always available to meet not only the needs of our fellow human beings, but also our own demands and expectations. Switching off your cell phone for a few hours hardly helps. Especially when everything gets to be too much, it’s important to recognize the patterns and beliefs that unconsciously guide us through life, and to not lose sight of ourselves, our own desires and needs. Always functioning is a no-go – and being on alone doesn’t make us happy.
Judith Brückmann and Cord Neubersch help us sort out the chaos. Based on stories from their professional practice, they show ways of escaping from our overwhelming daily demands.
