How Good is Your General Knowledge? History

Audio Book with Roofmusic

What do you know about the world today?

Kiepenheuer & Witsch continues to publish the series of tests about general knowledge. Spring 2011 comes with volumes on history as well as on politics & society. The first test on general knowledge has been #1 of the bestseller lists for months and has sold over 400,000 copies.

How many foreign citizens live in Germany? When is the highest tax bracket of 42 percent applicable? In which country did the heiress to the throne marry in 2010? When did the Thirty Year War end? Which era is referred to today as the Gründerzeit? When was the GDR founded?

For most of us, school lessons were a long time ago. But even so, hundreds of thousands of people wanted to take part in Germany’s biggest ever history test. This book offers us another chance to test our knowledge. It contains the full “Spiegel History Test”, an assessment of the surprising results and interviews on the subject with Heinrich August Winkler and Johannes B. Kerner.
