When spring comes to the tiny Austrian village of Glaubenthal, handsome Peter comes with it – twice a week to sell fresh rolls and croissants. Peter the baker is loved by everyone in the region, at least the women, because he is the very picture of a man. But, one Tuesday, things go very differently than usual: not only Peter, but death too, comes to the village.
One of Peter's biggest fans was Aunt Herta. Only this time she’s not the first to line up at the bus, as usual, but is found lying dead as a doornail in the garden. Not improbable, per se, at her age. But she’s stark naked which lets suspicion rise. So, old Mrs. Huber is once again forced to roll up her sleeves and start investigating. The baker offers to help: the handsome but not particularly bright Peter is ready to go to extremes if it helps to bring the culprit to justice. But when a second corpse follows, Mrs. Huber starts to feel a bit uneasy – and she doesn’t even know yet about the ugly things handsome Peter is bringing to light...
