»One of the most intelligent and authentic German political thrillers,« wrote the dpa about Wolfgang Schorlau’s thriller Fremde Wasser.
Private investigator Georg Dengler is back again – this time he unearths a state secret…
»Look for my husband,« says Sarah Singer, taking a deep drag on her cigarette as though this were the last cigarette in the world. »My husband is ill – and dangerous.«
This is just about all she has to say at first. Georg Dengler, private investigator from Stuttgart and former special investigator with the German Criminal Office, agrees to take on the job. He is fascinated by the blonde woman. He also thinks he knows her missing husband. His photo reminds him of the great drama in his childhood which almost killed him and ruined his family.
Sarah Singer’s husband is a professional soldier. After being sent on secret missions to Afghanistan, he returns to Germany traumatised and deeply shocked. Shortly after, he disappears without a trace. Several murders occur. When Georg Dengler sets to work, he discovers that Hans-Jörg Singer is being pursued by very different levels of authority. And suddenly, he is standing in the way of powerful interests.
